 The best Latin American surfers went to the water today in Jacó, Costa Rica for the ALAS Latin and Caribbean Tour seventh stage, the Reef Classic Classic Latin Pro Costa Rica that was held on two to three feet waves.
The reigning 2006 Miss Hawaiian Tropic - Costa Rica , Andrea Salas , was spotted by surf photographers watching the final heats of the 2006 Reef Latin Pro and then Salas attended the subsequent Miss Reef Brazil bikini contest.
Nino Medrano, a native from Puerto Viejo, on the Costa Rican Caribbean won the title.
"I did the best I could on my final wave, that´s how I got the score. I think that I surfed well on the entire contest and I knew I had my good chances of wining it. I use to be one of the best ALAS surfers, that´s why this is a great come back for me on the ALAS Tour, I will always try to give my best efforts for my country" stated Medrano.

On November 30th, 2006 will be the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Finals for Costa Rica. The event is being held poolside of the Hotel Playa Samara. Winner of the bikini contest will represent Costa Rica in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant in Las Vegas sometime in April of 2007. |
