 Gisele Bundchen is currently an item with superstar quarterback, Tom Brady. Gisele Bundchen and the New England Patriots star started dating right before Christmas of 2006. It first became known to the public that the model and jock were an item in January of this year, when they were seen leaving Bundchen's apartment in NYC. Gisele and Tom were then largely photographed on their trip all over Europe. The most recent news with the couple was the alleged rumor that Gisele Bundchen was carrying the baby of Tom Brady. Gisele then shot the rumor down on a Spanish Television show.
In the past Gisele has went out with model Scott Barnhill, professional surfer Kelly Slater, actor Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), and probably the most famous of them, actor Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic, The Departed). Her recent love interest, Tom Brady, has so far been one of the longest.
Gisele was discovered by a modeling scout when she was in a McDonald's eating a Big Mac when she was 14. She was so skinny that her friends used to call her Olivia Palito, which is Portuguese for Olive Oyl (Children's cartoon Popeye's girlfriend). Then in 1996 when Bundchen was 17, she moved to NYC, were she debuted in the USA when she walked down the runway at New York Fashion Week, which is were her modeling career picked up. Then in 1999 she appeared in Vogue Magazine in an editorial titled "The Return of the Curve" which can be viewed as the demise as the heroin chic in the Fashion Industry. From there her photograph was on the cover of the following month of Vogue (December 1999) and then in January of 2000 she had another appearance on Vogue Magazine, which is a rare honor to have three appearances on the cover of Vogue. Then again in 2000 she was the fourth model ever to be on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Besides Vogue and Rolling Stone, Bundchen also has appeared in Vanity Fair, Forbes, News Week, Veja, GQ, Esquire, and many more.
She has modeled for such designers as Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Valentino, Chloe, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Victoria's Secret and many more. On May 1st, she ended her contract with Victoria's Secret because they would not give her the $5 million a year salary raise. Forbes Magazine rated all of the top earning super models in the world, and Bundchen was rated number one with making a reported 33 million.
Not only is she a model but she is also an actress. She has been in such movies as Taxi, with Jimmy Falon, and The DaVinci Code with Tom Hanks. She has also done the new "Get a Mac" commercials on TV. She has even been the target of a radical environmental statement. In 2002, during the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, members from the organization PETA, ran up on stage and held signs that said "Gisele: Fur Scum". This attack was prompted supposedly because of the fact that she had, at the time signed a new modeling contract with Blackglama, who is notorious for fur farming. After the unwarranted attack Gisele said "I am the biggest animal lover in the world, I'm just doing my job, I'm a model, i don't even wear fur." After security took the protesters off stage, they re-taped Bundchen's segment.
The 27 year old model has made $33 million in 13 years. She has showed the Fashion Industry that she is probably the best model out there, she showed herself and her friends that she is more then a Brazilian Volleyball player, which is originally what she wanted to be. She has showed the world she has got what it takes, and we want more! |
