International super model Petra Nemcova is going to be hosting a new show called A Model Life. Petra Nemcova’s show A Model Life is following the trend of other reality television shows that are hosted by models like Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks. Nemcova says that her show will be different then the rest of the other reality shows. “It’s about the real world of modeling” says Nemcova, “There’s no panel of judges like on Tyra’s show.” Petra goes on to say there are no fake challenges. The show follows the lives of six women from there first photo shoot to Fashion week in New York. The girls are competing for a contract with NEXT modeling agency. Also interesting is the fact that it is a modeling show where there is no eliminations nor any thing that will add drama to the show. Petra’s role is one of guidance. She is on the show to guide the aspiring models on there journey throughout the show.
Petra Nemcova herself is quite an interesting person. The 28 year old beauty was at a resort when the 2004 Christmas Tsunami struck. Her survival depended on hanging on to a tree for eight hours. In 2005 she started an organization called Happy Hearts Fund, which benefits children of the Tsunami. To date, the organization has raised more then 2 million dollars. Petra said the Tsunami gave her a new perspective on life.
A Model Life seems to have potential to be a good show. There is a myriad of shows like this out there, but with the approach of no gimmicks are fluff, the show might draw a crowd of people who do not like the untrue representation of “reality” on television. The show is on Friday nights on TLC at 10pm.
